Biography:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirma Todorova Angelova is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Pediatric Dentistry. She earned her first Master's degree from the University of Economics in Varna, Bulgaria, in 2005. In 2011, she completed her Master’s degree in Dental Medicine at the Medical University-Varna, where she later embarked on her academic career.
Dr. Angelova began her tenure at the Medical University-Varna in 2011 as an Assistant Professor. In 2015, she obtained a Certificate of Specialization in Pediatric Dentistry. Her commitment to research led to a postgraduate degree in 2017, with her independent study titled “Caries Risk Assessment and Prevention in Children Suffering from Some Renal Disorders.”
In 2018, she was promoted to Chief Assistant Professor, and in 2019, she published her monograph, “Epigenetic and Genetic Aspects of Oral Health in Children with Pyelonephritis.” Her academic journey culminated in 2024 when she was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University-Varna.
Throughout her career, Dr. Angelova has made significant contributions to scientific research, authoring and co-authoring more than 90 papers and reports. She has actively participated in over 60 scientific congresses, furthering advancements in Pediatric Dentistry.
Her research interests include caries risk evaluation and management in children, gingival disorders, nutrition and oral health interrelations, dental prophylaxis, and preventive Pediatric Dentistry. She is also engaged in studying the diagnostic and prognostic capacities of saliva in children with oral diseases.
Dr. Angelova continues to contribute to the field of Pediatric Dentistry through her academic, clinical, and research work, shaping the future of children's oral healthcare.
